Maybe I should have my ears checked...

After the Mom 2.0 Mad Men Party on Thursday night I saw one of my roommates in the lobby and she motioned for me to come over and chat.

It was fairly noisy at this point and most people had sort of oozed out of the bar and were now lingering in the Hotel Lobby as they congealed.

I made my way over to her when she leaned in and said "We're going to a Spanish Topless Place, want to come?". (or at least that's what I thought she said)

I said yes.

Though that is not typically something I would care to do, I thought "Why not?". I'd had a couple of drinks and was having fun...so I just ran with it.

When we arrived to the restaurant, which was just one block away, I was surprised when we walked in and no one was naked.

 Cool Spanish Chandelier.
That was because the restaurant was a Spanish Tapas place. Tapas being the Spanish word for appetizer. I had never heard of such a thing....but it was a really neat experience.

 Our lovely group.

A tapas menu consists of many different appetizer sized courses that typically range from $3-$10 each. A person usually orders 2-5 different tapas as a meal.

Let me just say, Spanish food looks really strange on the plate, but tastes SO GOOD.

The restaurant also had live performers while we were there (who were totally clothed, btw) and I caught this:

The night was a great one. I'm just wondering what it would have been like if the original scenario had played out.

  2. LOL! I actually had dinner at our local tapas place tonight. As I was heading out the door, my husband said, "Have fun at the TOPLESS bistro."

  3. I love Tapas! We used to have an awesome place by our old house and they made the best margaritas. The first night I had a MNO there my husband thought for sure I said a Topless restaurant as well. You can just imagine the kind of night he thought I was going to have!

I included you in the Sunday Funnies: http://peanutbutterinmyhair.blogspot.com/2010/03/sunday-funnies-march-7.html

  4. Crap! I went to the topless place and didn't even know it! Actually, I am pictured above and now know how brave I was to venture out with you and your group...who knows where we COULD have ended up.
