WW- 10 Best in '09

To say that 2009 was a good year for scrapbooking would be such an understatement.

I was accepted to 2 design teams, and really refined my style.

So these layouts are the best of the best from this year.

I don't know how many layouts I made total (yet, I'm still counting) but these make me really proud.

Here's to another year of preserving memories!

Jackson Speak

So, here is a very tired Jackson showing off the only language he knows...his own.

Jackson has been a little late on all developmental things (and I'm totally OK with that) I mean, he didn't even walk till 16 months....and yet they all come in time.

He now runs everywhere...so really in the end...that delay just meant I got to enjoy sitting down a little longer.

With the talking thing...some people have made really nasty, unwelcome comments. They want to know what's wrong with him.

Best I can tell, there's NOTHING wrong with him.

He is conversational...we just don't know what he's saying to us.

And, he understands and listens quite well. He's good at following instructions.
He uses Baby Sign Language everyday to tell me he's hungry, all done, or wants more.

So really, to me....that's all that matters.

Besides, I'm glad he speaks this sweet little gibberish right. I know one day I'm going to look back and miss it.

iResolve

In case you can't read them...

Ten in '10

1. Take more photos.
2. Travel.
3. Live more "green".
4. Scrap 110 layouts.
5. Kiss Dave and Jackson more.
6. Drink less soda.
7. Drink more water.
8. Excercise!
9. Have another baby. :-)
10. Disney World.

I didn't set my sights very high this year...I'm hoping that maybe my goals will be slightly more attainable as a result. Only time will tell.

Sorry the photo is so awful, it was raining when I took it.

Have you made your resolutions? Want to share?

A Christmas {Eve} Miracle

On Christmas Eve, my 6th niece was born.

She was 4 weeks early and had to be delivered via C-Section due to some frightening complications.

Although we were afraid that she might not be strong and healthy....in the end she turned out to be perfect.

Merry and Bright indeed

Yesterday was so simple and sweet. Perfect really.

We stayed inside, watched movies in our pj's, and played race cars on the kitchen floor.

My living room is currently filled with many plastic balls that should be inside a certain ball pit in the corner....but they'll stay where they are for now.

I'm a little sad that the season of light has come to an end....but thrilled at the growing love and fun days to come with my family!

In the moment

Tonight I let Jackson splash wildly in the tub...more than I'd normally allow, but I figured it was ok.

It is almost Christmas after all.

The greatest gift for me this year has already been given.

I never discussed it on here, but the first week in November I pulled Jackson out of daycare due to a change in circumstances.

At the time, I was a little panicked...it had been easy having a newborn at home with me all day everyday, but after having him in part-time care for awhile (so I could run my AVON business) I was nervous that I would be impatient with him on a full time schedule again.

I could not have been more wrong.

The last 2 months have been so delightful...I cannot even express it to you fully with words.

It has been the most tremendous blessing to have him here with me every day. Me watching and enjoying his sweet gibberish, little expressions, and the way he rubs his lower lip with his pinky finger as he is falling asleep.

I feel like a more of a mother now...someone I'm proud of (someone I hope he'll be proud of one day too).

I'm not saying we're living the life of The Cleavers over here or anything. I mean he is 2, and we still have our moments. I just handle them in a whole new way now. A way that says, "Be grateful that you have a child......that just stuck his hands in the toilet".

So, in the spirit of fully embracing this joy that is motherhood (however messy or stressful it might be) I let him live it up today.

After bath time I let him watch Merry Christmas Charlie Brown...even though it ran a little past his bedtime.

Tonight, I'm thankful for this gift of Motherhood...and the person it has helped me to become.

Cheesy self portrait

I scrapped the other day for the first time in weeks.

I'm very ill, and managed only this layout before I crawled back in bed.

Hoping to feel 100% again by tomorrow, because you know...it would totally suck to be sick on Christmas.

Settled in

Here we are with Christmas only days away! I'm excited.

I have all my shopping finished, gifts wrapped, and best of all I have a sweet hubby and little boy to snuggle up with on cold nights. And we've been doing alot of snuggling lately.

Warm cider, Christmas movies, and little boy kisses make for some perfect evenings...let me tell you.

Last week and this week I have been savoring the magical feeling that's in the air. I love it. I love that you can be almost anywhere and just stop and really feel Christmas.

It is a sensation I will never grow tired of.

Things will be busy the next couple of weeks...so I just wanted to say this now in case I get preoccupied:

May You and Your Family have a Blessed Holiday!

Merry Christmas!

Hustle and Bustle

Well, The Holidays are in full swing around here.

Every time I turn around I realize there is something I have forgotten to do.

Add in the stress of my husband interviewing for a nice position at a new job and well, you might say things are a little crazy for us right now.

I'll be back in a few days...no worries.

But in the mean time, would you mind praying that my hubs is chosen for this job?

It will be a SUCH a blessing for our family.

Thanks so much!

Christmas Tour of Homes 2009

So, here are my photos for the awesome Christmas Tour of Homes put on by The Nester.

P.S. Her photos are AMAZING....be sure to check them out!

They got me dreaming of what I will do with my decor in the future! My photos have lighting that is just so so...but I'm a busy gal and it's all I can manage right now.

Anywho...here's what I have up now.

I collect snowmen. This is one of many.

More snowmen in the Kitchen.
Yes, my stove is like 30 years old..don't laugh.

I made that garland myself this year! *beams*
I also made the little bows above the stockings!

The tree. It's not as full as I would like... but I'm dealing.
Considering a real one for next year.
Want to see my little man tearing it apart? Go HERE.

My snowman soap dispenser in the kitchen!

Thanks for stopping by...

Have a wonderful Holiday!
