Scrapbooking How To: Heat Embossing with Powder

Photobucket
First gather all your supplies. You will need Embossing Ink, Embossing Powder, a heat gun, a tray to catch the excess powder, a stamp and paper.

Photobucket
Ink your stamp with the special Embossing Ink. Make sure your stamp gets good and inky so that you will have lots for the powder to stick to.

Photobucket
Then stamp it onto your paper.

Quickly sprinkle on the Embossing Powder while the ink is still wet.

Dump the excess powder into your tray. My tray is specially made for this and has a funnel, so I can easily pour the left over powder back into it's jar. I highly recommend investing in one of these! Embossing powder can be expensive, and this is a great way to make it last longer.

Heat the image using your heat gun. Pay careful attention to the powder as it heats up. You will see a change in the powders color and texture as it heats. This process shouldn't take very long, and you have to make sure your do not burn the paper or yourself (and trust me, it's very easy to do, those guns get HOT!).

Finally embellish your image after it has cooled. I added bling eyes to my spider!
