The craving I can't satisfy

So yeah, for the past 24 hours I have been wanting something to eat, but I have yet to put my finger on what that "something" is.

Needless to say I been eating alot on my quest for this mystery food.

I will just stop you right here and say, No, I'm not pregnant! LOL! I'm on good birth control (finally!) and that ain't happening!

Anyway, back to me over eating, it is just crazy. I'll take little nibble of this and that, thinking that one of the many bites will eventually lead to my discovery of the thing I've been wanting all along....*sigh*

So, I'm still trying to figure it out, but I'm about to head out and rent a movie and try, yet again to satisfy my mystery craving....wish me luck!

Also, am I the only (not pregnant) chick this happens to?

Let me tell you about

the fabulous episode of American Experience I watched last night! First off if you don't know about this show, look into it!

It is so great! Now, I admit I'm a nerd and love to watch documentaries and historical accounts of things, but seriously, I think most anyone could find an episode of this they love!

I watched A Midwife's Tale last night, and it was just amazing! It was done like a movie, but based on a personal diary that a midwife living in 17th century Maine left behind. Just so cool!

It's so neat to learn about the way American women lived long ago, it really gives you perspective on your own life.

Anyway, I don't want to spoil it for you, so go check it out yourself! Oh, and you don;t have to buy the episodes on DVD, you can get almost all of them on netflix!

TGIF!

I got him a seat

After much thought and worrying about whether or not Jackson would be comfortable on my lap during the flight to Orlando......I came to the conclusion he would need his own seat, where he can sit in the carseat he is familiar with, and hopefully doze off fast just like he does in the car (pray for me! :-)

Having now reserved his seat, I can't tell you how much more at ease I feel about the trip there. :-)

I guess I just knew that he wouldn't want to fall asleep on my lap, but would prefer to fuss and try to get down instead. And, I also thought that even if he did fall asleep, sitting with me probably wouldn't be the most comfortable way to sleep....and he gets so warm when he's sleeping....so I would have my own personal heating blanket...so then we would both be hot.

I honestly feel like this way will be so much better....now if the trip would just get here!

I bet you were thinking I stopped scrapping...

HA! Like that would ever happen! :-) Actually, what DID happen is that I kept making things, but could never get a good shot of them because it was always dull and rainy outside when I wanted to take the pics.

Well I finally got them taken, so here are projects from the beginning of July until now!

This cute little froggy will be on sale at my Etsy site later today! ;-)
The stamps were designed by my awesome friend Erica!

Loving this October Afternoon paper!

This was made with a Stampin' Up! SSK

This is us at my friend Abby's wedding!

Have a great day!

My new love = Aeropostale

In the search for cute/trendy, yet Mommy friendly clothes, I found myself in Aeropostale. Since the stuff at Old Navy has really been hit or miss lately, I wandered away to find myself staring at the cute pink shirt above (which I'm wearing today!). Not only did it fit well, but it is comfy and soft....and the best part it was cheap! I got like 15 shirts/cami's there the other day for less than $70 bucks!!! Granted, they were having a sale, but still!

I like their clothes because they are feminine and fresh, and I don't feel like a frumpy Mom in them...because I am just 24 after all! :-)

And if your wondering, they didn't pay me to do this post (not that I would mind :-) I am just genuinely pleased with them and wanted to share! I mean, us cool Mom's have to stick together, right?

Speaking of cool momness, tomorrow I'll be posting pick of my awesome new hair-do....which is a tad bit wild, but really, that's how I like it!

With less than 3 weeks until our Disney trip I'm just a bit antsy. I NEED a vacation so badly right now, and I know Jackson and I will have a blast! Not too mention the fact that it will provide tons of scrapping material (as if I needed more :-) and I'll get to meet my bloggy friend Jen!

I'm really hoping these next few weeks will go by fast!

Rain again?

It seems that the rain here has no intention of stopping. Living so near the gulf, we get all the hurricane/tropical storm leftovers.

While that kind of makes it bummy and gray for me, my plants are super happy! So, I guess it's not all bad. Really, I'm kind of enjoying the gray weather because I can rest up before school starts next week.

Yesterday Jackson and I curled up in the bed and watched movies, since we both had some congestion and low grade fevers. I'm feeling a bit better today, and so far Jackson seems ok as well.

Here is another picture from Jackson's birthday. He now knows when I'm taking photos of him, and so he totally hams it up! LOL! So cute!

Less than a week until school, less than a month until Disney

With such big events approaching, my mind is constantly running like crazy. I'm a big planner so now I'm in the process of making charts and lists for Disney, as well doing quite a bit of research about it online.

School is pretty much squared away. I got a new book bag, which is very artsy and stylish looking and some new notebooks. So yeah, I'm ready.

I'm sad Jackson has to go back to daycare, mainly because I worry the teachers there won't let him nap when he needs to or will force him to eat if he doesn't want to. Strangely, I wasn't worried the first time he went to a daycare (at six months old).

His teacher at that school was SUPER understanding and let Jackson play, sleep, and eat as he wanted too!

I'm concerned about this new school because I didn't choose it, Dave's mom did, and well it seems to me that they expect WAY too much from one year olds. They only get one nap a day, late in the afternoon (which Jackson won't be there for, and he needs a nap in the morning). They have a curriculum (which at this point I could care less about...after all he is ONE and we do teaching at home) that they follow strictly and apparently feel like one year olds need to learn how to walk in a line and eat at a table in the first half of the school year.

Please don't misunderstand my concern and think that I don't want Jackson to grow and develop, I do! I'm just not sure he needs to develop as fast as this school wants him too. It seems to me they want the children to do things a certain way so that it is easier for them (the caretakers) to get through the day.....which doesn't seems right to me honestly.

Jackson will be at this school 2 days a week while I'm at school. In the end, I'm sure I can undo any issues that happen in those two days....but I wish I didn't have to worry about it at all.

Of course, as I've learned, worrying is what being a good Mom is all about! :-)

Have a great week!

Baby's 1st Birthday

Well, as you can see from the photos Jackson absolutely loved his party! We had the BEST time! We also had to wash him off in the sink in the bathroom afterwards (no, I'm not kidding!). So now my little isn't so little anymore, but that's ok, we made great memories on Sat.

And now, for some strange reason, my living room is FULL of toys. Seriously, it feels like Christmas here! :-) My friends and family are TOO generous! I love you all!

These are the little goody bags Jackson's friends will be getting at his birthday party tomorrow! I made the tags with my Cricut, a retired SU! birthday set, and some may arts ribbon!

I love the way they turned out! I can't wait to come back and share the party photos with you all.
