I'm happy it's Friday! It seems like this past week went by kind of slowly. I'm also excited because I'm scrapping with my friend Am tonight. :-)

Speaking of scrapping, here's a layout I did last weekend. (Notice the lovely creases in it where the cat stepped all over it!!!) I really like this one, and if you haven't noticed...I'm kind of into making little collages of things on my layouts right now.

Here are a few cute pics of the DH and Jackson I snapped yesterday! Total scrappy fodder for the weekend!! Yay!:-)

A little bit of everything!

As of today I'm feeling 100% better! Yay for that. This morning I cleaned out our storage closet and got rid of tons of junk! I took some things to the consignment shop, but most of it went to the dumpster.

Now I just have to work on cleaning out the rest of the house!

Now that plans have been made and plane tickets purchased, I get more excited about our Disney trip everyday! If you have any tips or ideas for 1 year olds at Disney, please share. I will be oh so grateful!

Well, I'm off to do some more housework, I have to use this motivation while it's here! :-)

Wordless Wednesday

Ok, so I know it's blurry, but I just love his facial expression in this shot! :-) (And for those curious he does have on a diaper...just nothing else...carrot stains are hard to get out of clothes you know!)

I'm feeling pretty good today. I got some housework done, so I'm happy about that and I did a layout last night too! :-)

A little better

Well after lots of rest and medicine I am feeling somewhat human again. And, after realizing my Disney trip is less than 3 months away, I started planning.

Because really, is it ever to early to plan for traveling with a 1 year old? :-D

So here for your viewing pleasure is a cute pic of Jackson. Who is now 10 months old (still in shock! wow!)

The Domino Effect

So first Jackson had a nasty cold, then Dave got it, and now of course I have contracted it. Despite all my spraying of Lysol and cleaning with bleach, I am now sick.

And since I'm the one who got it last, I got the nasty mutated version of it that is apparently 20 times more rough on the body...Yay me! (not)

I'll come back when I can breathe through my nose again.

Another rainy day...

Sorry I'm a bit late in posting this afternoon. This morning I got to sleep in thanks to my awesome hubby...so I'm very grateful for that!

So here is one of my fave layouts I've done lately! Coincidentally with more red, white and blue! These papers, like the ones from yesterday, are from "Zach's Life" by Little Yellow Bicycle. It's a very cute summery collection for boys!

Last night (and tonight too, yay!) I was scrapping with my friend Am and I made another layout that I am enormously proud of! But, it is for a contest, so I will have to wait and see if I win before I can show it to you....so just try and be patient...k?

Well, I'm off to do some shopping with Am while Jackson is down for a nap and DH holds down the fort.

Water Baby

Here is probably one of the most minimal layouts I've done in awhile. If you know my scrapping style well, you know that I typically blanket my page with embellishments, so this is a refreshing change for me.

I have never really cared for red, white, and blue while scrapping, but after using the "Zach's Life" papers from Little Yellow Bicycle, they have grown on me a little bit.

So, let's see. Dave is busy and forever buried in a book while trying to finish the first summer session of Grad school. He has read more in the past 3 weeks than I have probably read in the last 2 years! Wow! I am continually impressed at his hard work and commitment towards school! I love you baby! :-)

Jackson is much better after his cold and we have managed to get back on our normal schedule. We go to the town pool 2 or 3 times a week now! I made some "Mom friends" there who have small babies too, so we sit there with them in the shallow water and talk. It's very nice!

I am trying to mentally prepare myself for the fact that I will be returning to college in the fall to finish my Bachelors. That is of course a step towards my starting nursing school. It's all a little overwhelming to think about, especially after being at home for over a year, but I think I'm ready! Wish me luck!

Love my boy

Here is another summery layout. I really love the patterned papers I used on it. They're from Crate Paper and I just love them! I think this turned out especially nice. I really like the Flourish transparency I used, it's from My Minds Eye. I think it adds an extra touch to the page.

Motherhood isn't for sissies

Well, last night was another hard one for Baby J. His congestion kept waking him up.

I sat up with him until 1am at which point I decided to get in the car and drive him to sleep. It worked...but gosh...this method is expensive with the way gas is. It's a shame too, because it's one of the most effective ways I know to put a baby to sleep.

I got back to the house around 1:45 and put J in the bed, then fell in the bed myself. He woke up for a bottle @ 6:20 and has been awake ever since. I expect his morning nap to be a long one today.

Mommy is tired today, but I think he might be feeling a bit better this morning, so that makes it all worth it to me. :-)

What a night!

Jackson has come down with a cold out of nowhere! He woke up in the middle of the night last night totally miserable...poor guy.

We sat in the rocking chair for 3 hours with the humidifier on and he finally dozed back off. He is still feeling pretty crumby today though.

Any good safe cold remedies for babies out there? I'd love to hear them....I just want to help him get better as quickly as possible. :-)

Chick flicks

Lately I've been watching movies at night....well really I always watch movies but lately it's been chick flicks.

Two that I really enjoyed recently are "In Her Shoes" and "P.S. I love you". "In Her Shoes" is good because it shows Cameron Diaz in a role totally different than I am used to seeing her in...she gets kudos from me for that.

I really, really liked "P.S. I love you". Of course my husband said he didn't want to see it because the cool macho guy that is in "300" is the one that writes all the swoony letters in this flick! LOL :-)

I was also really excited to see that there is a sequel to Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants coming out! Yay for that!!! I totally love that movie!

Because Father's Day is almost here...

I made this over the weekend. After Dave wrote that Ultra sweet poem about Baby J, I just had to make a layout about it......it's one I'm certain Jackson will be especially find of later on. :-)

I really like that postage stamp paper. I'm really into paper with die-cut edges right now! I went to the LSS with a friend the other day and bought a ton of it! Hopefully I will have plenty more layouts to show you all soon.

Nothing else really happened this weekend. I think Jackson is going through another growth spurt because he took a 3 hour nap today....his naps are usually about half that lately.

My plans were thwarted

Yesterday when we arrived at the pool it was sunny. Jackson was hungry so I decided to feed him before we got in. Then I snapped the picture you see here.



We got in the pool for about 20 minutes and then it poured down rain, which would explain why I have no other pictures to show.

Attempt #2 will happen next week! Wish me luck!

I'm going to do it!

We are headed to the town pool again today and I have decided to take my camera! So hopefully I will come back with some awesome pics of my little water baby! :-)

Not really much else to talk about....I made a gorgeous layout last night, but I can't show you until after the 15th because it's for a contest entry (wish me luck!).

The days just keep getting away from me!

I looked up and it was today! LOL! Ok, ok so I know that sounds dumb, but I'm serious.....time is just flying by.

I meant to post yesterday and things just kept me so busy I couldn't.

Jacksons appt. went well on Tuesday. It turns out the source of irritation in his ear was a large piece of wax.....which I got to watch the Dr. pull out of his ear (fun, fun let me tell you!).

He is back to his normal self now, which is oh so nice! :-)

I haven't scrapped in several days, but I'm feeling a creative itch, so maybe tonight.

Boy

Here is the other layout I did this weekend. The patterned paper is by My Minds Eye, it's from their "Just Dreamy" collection. I think those papers are just perfect for little boy pics!

The trip to my mom's yesterday was fun, but we really didn't do anything picture worthy, so I have nothing to show off.

Today I'll be picking up the house and running errands, you know, groceries bills etc! Fun fun! :-)

Beach Baby

Anyway, I love this lo! I'm really into stars right now too, because I also made another layout with them this weekend. I'll post it tomorrow.

I am considering starting a diet this week, but to be honest, I have been considering that every week for the past month, so far it hasn't seemed appealing...LOL!

Jackson and I are going to visit my mom today! Hopefully I will get some cute pics to post later this week.

My husband is the best

Just in case you didn't know, my husband and I were both English majors. We actually met in an Early English Masterworks class one summer.

Anyway, today my husband reminded me how big of English nerds we really are, and why I chose to marry him.
