There just aren't enough hours...

**Warning! In this post I make very strong political remarks. If you feel that these would make you uncomfortable, I suggest you skip over this post. Thanks!**

In the last few days I went on a big cleaning binge with my house. I have been dusting and mopping and vacuuming like a crazy woman.

Strangely though, deep cleaning takes up time, which leaves less time for everyday activities. Like, say, blogging.

So even though I have lots of cool stuff to show you and tell you about, my apparent lack of extra hours in the day is holding me back.

I am enjoying the fact that my house feels nice and cozy now though (and that when I have people over for my Pampered Chef party in a couple of weeks no one will be able to judge me...I hope).

On a final little note, I would just like to add that I am so fed up with our dreadfully failing economy it;s not even funny!

*Steps up on Soapbox here*

I know, I know. I have never discussed politics on my blog, and I probably won't make it a habit, but I've had enough!

I hate that even with cutting back on everything, like my hair coloring (which I now am using the 2.oo box kind from wal-mart), excess driving, re-selling Jackson's old clothes at a consignment shop for credit to buy him used clothes, and canceling all my magazine subscriptions we are still BARELY getting by.

As of today I am cutting out extra snack and Junk food, as that was the last little treat we were allowing ourselves, but no more!

Groceries are ASTRONOMICAL compared to what they were even a year ago. And I cut LOTS of coupons people!

I am MOST angry that people in one political party are going around like nothing is wrong or that this, this, and this are NO BIG DEAL! Or, that we can just make small band-aid liek fixes now and everything will naturally right itself sooner or later. What are we all supposed to do until then????

Meanwhile many middle to lower class are suffering more than ever, and my family is feeling it more than ever. And we are hard working people, busting our behinds in school, so that our child will hopefully have a better life than this one day!

I don't want to name call or endorse candidates here, you will ultimately vote for the candidate you believe in, and that's fine.

My main concern is that so many are genuinely suffering while an elite few are still basking in the "golden" sun.

When did people lose their concern and empathy for others? When did we lose the values that this country was founded on? When did everything become so cutthroat?

I guess the last thing I have to say is that I'm scared. We are in such a deep rut now, I'm not sure what the remedy will be (or when it will come).

And with all that being said, I'm sorry if you were offended, this is just my personal point of view, and I'm sticking to it. Things are just too bad to keep quiet any longer.

And now I'll step down.

  1. I am with you on everything you said. Starting with not enough hours in the day. As you've said, we are barely getting by these days so our Christmas spending is pretty much out the window. I have decided to make most of our Christmas gifts, which take time...that I don't have much of these days. I am scared for my children and the future they will have if things do not start looking up. And the fact that my grocery bill is $200 A WEEK for 3 growing boys...there isn't room for anything extra. It's sad!

Oh i hear you on the financial hits we are all taking, it stinks, the gas blows and the groceries are outrageous and DH is a super hard worker and like you said, its rough just to get by .
And i have also been on a cleaning frenzy since yesterday, the little guy is in an "ok" mood the past day and my house is trashed since i havent been able to do much so it feels good to clean !! Now i just have to sneak in the shower !!

  3. There was nothing political about your post. It's about taking care of our families. And we ALL need a candidate who will do that.

And it seems everyone has lost sight of that. I'm truly scared about the future. Regardless of who gets elected.

  4. I never talk politics or get very personal on my blog. I guess I'm "conservative". But this is a tough time. We do need to speak out about the values of this country, keep every freedom and start expecting people to "work" harder for what they want. Part of our country's problem is that we "help" a bit too much nationally with those who could contribute more. There's so much we all have to say. Being a mom, I don't get to hear the debates and news as much...but sometimes I think I'm better off not hearing their liberal version of what's going on anyway. I wish the media could just tell it the way it is. Ok. Back to art...I don't see your lay-out posts.

We're also feeling some strain. A lot, actually.
