After much thought and worrying about whether or not Jackson would be comfortable on my lap during the flight to Orlando......I came to the conclusion he would need his own seat, where he can sit in the carseat he is familiar with, and hopefully doze off fast just like he does in the car (pray for me! :-)
Having now reserved his seat, I can't tell you how much more at ease I feel about the trip there. :-)
I guess I just knew that he wouldn't want to fall asleep on my lap, but would prefer to fuss and try to get down instead. And, I also thought that even if he did fall asleep, sitting with me probably wouldn't be the most comfortable way to sleep....and he gets so warm when he's sleeping....so I would have my own personal heating blanket...so then we would both be hot.
I honestly feel like this way will be so much better....now if the trip would just get here!

I think you made the right decision, even if he were to sit on your lap you will be glad to have the space... those seats are small and close together and it will help you not have to rub elbows with someone. When we flew to Orlando (sw airlines) I got on first because of Izzy and would just throw my stuff on three rows of seats for all the kids etc. We could spread out!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to Universal? I loved it there!
I think it is good to have that extra space if for no other reason than a place to change a diaper. I dread the idea of ever flying with a baby in my lap anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI agree, though I've never flown with kids. He is used to his own carseat and his own space in your vehicle, so why change that. Plus is he sits on your lap on the plane he may think that's an option in the car too. This decision must be a weight off your shoulders. The trip will be here before you know it!
